Reliance Mutual Fund first to launch Voice-based Investing

Voice Assistants are fast taking drudgery out of many repetitive tasks. They tell us news, plays songs for us, give us driving directions and also raise or lower room temperature for us. They also save us from having to remember routine processes and numbers.

It was time someone thought of deploying one in the field of investing. Checking folio balances, transferring funds to and from the Mutual Fund accounts etc., are really the tasks that should be automated pronto!Reliance Mutual Fund, one of country’s largest fund houses, and a pioneer in introducing many innovations in Mutual Funds, has now launched India’s first voice based Mutual Fund investment service in partnership with Google. This service, launched only on the Simply Save App of Reliance Mutual Fund, will enable investors to invest, get their portfolio value and withdraw from the fund through voice commands.

When an investor logs into the Reliance Mutual Fund’s Simply SaveApp he/she has an option of just calling out the Voice Assistant and then on just use his/her voice to purchase more units into Reliance Liquid Fund, track the portfolio or redeem his/her investments from the scheme.

According to Sundeep Sikka, ED & CEO, Reliance Nippon Life Asset Management, 

“The company’s offer to launch voice-led financial transaction is aimed at making way for conversational commercial transactions through the digital channel. We are of a firm belief that going ahead voice is going to be the primary medium for bringing in digital inclusion across the masses”. Over the last few years, the fund house has witnessed a rapid adoption of its various digital initiatives, which has also been helping it increase its customer base “by simplifying 

lives and giving birth to frictionless experiences,” he said.

Nitin Bawankule, Country Director, Google Cloud India says: “Reliance Mutual Fund’s pioneering endeavour to bring voice-based transactions to the mutual fund space is very exciting, and it’s a great example of how voice search can create help enterprises create engaging, personal interactions with customers.”
