Market Outlook: Indian markets are likely to open negative, with Gift Nifty declining by 75.0 pts (-0.32%) following weak global cues, as the S&P 500 fell 37.0 pts (-0.48%), Dow Jones declined by 405.4 pts (-0.77%) and Nasdaq 100 dropped by 86.2 pts (-0.29%). Domestic sentiment remains cautious after the Nifty 50 declined 0.86% in the previous session, while market breadth remained weak with NSE advance-decline at 1,481:2,092 and BSE at 1,792:2,600. India VIX rose 6.63% to 12, indicating higher volatility. Options positioning indicates resistance around 24,000 on Nifty, while 23,000 remains the key Put OI level.

 

FII & DII Activity: Institutional flows remained mixed, with FIIs/FPI recording net selling of Rs583.0 crore, while DIIs remained strong net buyers at Rs1,509.0 crore. The continued buying by domestic institutions provided some support, although foreign investor selling and weak market breadth kept overall sentiment cautious.

Sector Activity: Sectoral performance remained mixed, with Nifty Metal (+1.79%), Energy (+0.63%) and PSE (+0.29%) outperforming, while IT was the key drag, declining 3.24%. Financial Services (-1.24%), Services (-1.23%), FMCG (-0.96%), Private Banks (-0.95%) and Pharma (-0.70%) also remained under pressure.

F&O Activity: Long build-up was visible in Biocon, Bank of Maharashtra, Cochin Shipyard, Angel One and Paytm, while short build-up was seen in LTM, Coforge, Hyundai Motor India, Muthoot Finance and CDSL. Long unwinding was observed in Kalyan Jewellers, Max Financial Services, Motilal Oswal Financial Services, ONGC and GVT&D, whereas short covering emerged in Adani Enterprises, MCX, Inox Wind, Power India and Adani Ports.

Adani Enterprises: Adani Airport Holdings will raise Rs9,825 crore from Alpha Wave Global, Premji Invest, Temasek and BlackRock-managed funds. The investors will receive a combined 5.54% stake, valuing AAHL at approximately US$18 billion pre-money.

Cochin Shipyard: The company approved a 50:50 JV with Drydocks World Dubai to operate its International Ship Repair Facility in Kochi. The Rs1,800-crore facility will add ten workstations and is expected to be implemented before the end of FY27, subject to approvals.

Larsen & Toubro: L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore won a Rs2,500–5,000 crore order from ONGC for the Ratna-I and NLM-14 developments off India’s west coast. The EPCIC scope includes three well-head platforms, one riser platform, subsea pipelines and cables, along with brownfield modifications.

Gujarat Ambuja Exports: The company will invest Rs333 crore in an 850-TPD greenfield corn wet-milling plant at Hubli. The project will increase Hubli capacity from 750 TPD to 1,600 TPD and is targeted for commissioning by Q4FY29.

RBL Bank: The bank priced US$350 million of senior unsecured notes under its US$1-billion EMTN programme. The bonds carry a 5.791% fixed coupon, with bullet repayment scheduled for 16 September 2031
