Daily Market Update - 7th September 2026 - Ventura Securities Ltd

Market Outlook: Indian markets are likely to open positive, with Gift Nifty gaining 0.32%, supported by a positive setup in domestic markets. The Nifty 50 closed at 23,898, up 0.10%, while market breadth remained positive with NSE advances at 2,016 against 1,517 declines and BSE advances at 2,388 against 1,991 declines. India VIX declined 5.80% to 11, indicating lower near-term volatility. Overnight global cues were mixed, with the S&P 500 and Dow Jones declining 0.38% and 0.51%, respectively, while Nasdaq 100 gained 0.21%. Options positioning shows Nifty Call OI concentrated at 24,000 and Put OI at 23,900, with PCR at 1.08.

 

FII & DII Activity: Institutional flows remained supportive from domestic investors, with FIIs/FPI recording net selling of Rs3,111.9 crore, while DIIs remained strong net buyers with inflows of Rs 8,930.1 crore. The sizeable DII buying provided support against continued foreign investor selling, keeping domestic liquidity favourable for the broader market.

Sector Activity: Sectoral performance remained mixed, with Nifty Metal (+1.07%), Financial Services (+0.49%), Oil & Gas (+0.21%) and PSE (+0.04%) gaining, while Pharma (-0.68%), IT (-0.47%), Auto (-0.45%), PSU Banks (-0.44%), Consumer Durables (-0.43%) and Consumer (-0.40%) remained under pressure. Energy declined 0.19%, while Services remained flat.

 

F&O Activity: Long build-up was witnessed in SWIGGY, APLAPOLLO, MCX, HDFCLIFE and TATASTEEL, indicating fresh buying interest. Short build-up was observed in KEI, POLYCAB, HAVELLS, ATHERENERG and MARUTI. Long unwinding was seen in INDIANB, KPITTECH, BAJAJHLDNG, ETERNAL and INFY, whereas short covering emerged in ANGELONE, BSE, LICHSGFIN, HINDUNILVR and ABCAPITAL.

Tata Motors: TML CV Holdings launched an all-cash tender offer for Iveco at €14.10 per share, valuing Iveco at approximately €3.82 billion. The acceptance period runs from 7 September to 26 October 2026, with required competition and FDI clearances obtained. The combined businesses would have annual sales of around 590,000 vehicles and revenue exceeding €21 billion.
CG Power: The company commissioned the first transformer from its new Sehore facility, with initial capacity of 10,000 MVA now operational. CG Power is investing Rs 792 crore to progressively expand the facility to 45,000 MVA, taking total transformer capacity to 1,20,000 MVA. The plant will manufacture 220–1,200 kV transformers with capacity of up to 35 transformers per month.
Brigade Enterprises: The company launched Brigade Barcelona, a premium residential project in Neopolis, Hyderabad, with estimated revenue potential exceeding Rs 2,700 crore. The 4.04-acre development will comprise more than 650 homes, primarily offering premium 3-BHK and 4-BHK apartments.
JSW Energy: Operational capacity reached 15,025 MW after adding 1,572 MW since April 2026, including 1,272 MW of renewable and 300 MW of thermal capacity. Renewables now account for over 60% of operational capacity at 9,067 MW, while locked-in generation capacity stands at 32.4 GW.
Anupam Rasayan: The company signed a six-year supply contract with a US-headquartered global specialty-metal manufacturer for a specialty chemical. Dispatches are expected to commence in the latter half of Q3 FY27, expanding the company’s presence in the geological-resources segment.
