One of the most encouraging takeaways from August is the continued growth in industry folios, reflecting the widening reach of mutual funds. Record-high SIP contributions, along with a moderating stoppage ratio, further demonstrate the growing discipline of Indian investors.

The continued preference for small-cap and mid-cap funds indicates investors desire to participate in the broader opportunity across corporate India. Given the nature of these segments, disciplined allocation, patience and a longer investment horizon remain important. Sustained investor interest in Gold ETFs, alongside consistent flows into multi-asset allocation funds, reflects a growing preference for diversification and balanced portfolio allocation amid global uncertainty. At the same time, flows into liquid, money market and ultra-short-duration categories suggest that investors remain selective amid volatility, with a continued preference for the shorter end of the yield curve and lower duration risk.
